Pittsburgh EMS
In the City of Pittsburgh, the EMS (Emergency Medical Services) Department is separate from the Bureau of Fire and includes Paramedic Units (Advanced Life Support Ambulances) as well as Rescue trucks. There are a number of different Rescue companies in the city but the two Heavy-Rescue trucks are Rescue 1 in Bloomfield and Rescue 2 in Downtown Pittsburgh.
In many other cities such as New York City or Washington, D.C., the Fire Departments run Heavy Rescue Trucks. While this site is dedicated to the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire, many firebuffs, fire enthusiasts and fire photographers like to see Rescue trucks so this is my page dedicated to the EMS workers of the Pittsburgh EMS.
